There is energy beneath our fears. Release the energy to release the fears.
Protecting the heart comes in many forms of behavior but the underlying emotion is fear. The fourth Chakra is represented by the heart, the color green and air.
Heart center where all emotions flow.
A place where the body and mind integrate.
The heart is the place of wholeness and balance.
Effort and ease.
Give and receive love.
Breath is the tool to regulate the body and mind.
Self care is self love and the core of living on purpose.
A look at an athlete in balance with yoga and training 1) truthfulness, picking a race and training plan that works with your current life stage 2) self-discipline, the staying power of working on the goal when it gets tough 3) attention to form, finding effort and ease, strength and flexibility with consistency 4) focused energy by using the breathing techniques to get the results we desire 5) going inward to visualize how you will manage the race and move through distractions. Balance is to focus specifically on your desire and have the discipline to do the work. Allow your focus to be the finish line.
It is a beautiful scene to watch an athlete who has trained well and competes with fearlessness. A trail runner moving effortlessly up and down the mountains. A baseball player making a flying leap to catch a ball. A cyclist hanging curves at high speeds. Athletes who practice with purpose go to game day and push play. The potentials of the human body are amazing to witness. The heart and soul of an athlete where the energy is balanced, and the mind and body are working together as one for the task at hand.
Set the base, work on the goals and race with focus then you have a better chance at success. Base training is the foundation and a support system to meet the goal. A time to set the expectations for your training journey and finding a way to keep life in balance. A time to build strength, eat nutritious food, and make room for recovery. When we have a strong foundation, then we can feel safe and secure to lift up toward our goals and dreams. We all have issues to work through and to put forth effort into our goals will help balance us to live our best life.
Refine the basics.
Do the small things right.
Fuel the body.
Fuel the mind.
Focus.
Two big projects have come to a close for me recently. A draft of my book at 50k words and training for a 50 mile trail run. Both of these goals seemed big and scary to me, but the desire was stronger than my resistance. I set up a plan for both. Writing 300 words a day was chunk down enough so as not to get overwhelmed. Training for the 50 miler was intense but every day I worked on the goal even if it was a rest day my focus was on recovery. Every day, my goal was top priority, eat the food to fuel, run the miles, climb the hills, strength workouts twice a week and plenty of rest. I have been a runner for many years with many failures at races but this one was different. The difference was the balance with training, rest and nutrition. In the end it all came down to my focus of my desire. A place where my body and mind integrated.
Journaling Prompt:
Describe your ideal day of life in balance.
All the best for you big big goals! I have been tweaking my schedule lately. Planner-Mika likes to schedule a lot in one day and it’s pretty jam packed, so Present-Mika needs to allow a bit of space between schedules. 😉
Wow! 50 miles.. awesome.
As usual this blog resonates with me so much.. I practice some of the things for intense day at work as well - Meditate, exercise, eat right - breathe before key meetings - note how I am feeling...
